KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9, 2025 – Celebrated chef and television personality Poh Ling Yeow, best known as a judge on MasterChef Australia, has returned to Malaysia after more than a decade to showcase her culinary artistry and unveil exciting new projects.
Her visit marks her first in 13 years, where she cooked at a special dinner celebrating 70 years of diplomatic and trade relations between Malaysia and Australia. Guests were treated to a creative menu highlighting the versatility of Australian almonds, with dishes such as Ajo Bianco with Tuna Crudo, Chicken Almond Korma, and Strawberry Balsamic Mascarpone with Almonds.

Beyond the commemorative dinner, Poh is also filming a new television programme documenting her Malaysian homecoming. Adding to her busy schedule, she will soon release a brand-new cookbook titled CRUNCH: Recipes for Every Day with Australian Almonds, featuring 23 recipes that demonstrate innovative uses of almonds in both savoury and sweet creations. From thickening laksa to enhancing curries, creating no-cook pasta sauces, and crafting indulgent desserts like almond-filled mille-feuille, the book highlights the ingredient’s endless possibilities.
Poh, who has long been celebrated for bridging cultures through food, expressed her joy at reconnecting with her Malaysian roots while sharing her passion for culinary heritage. “Food has always been about connection and storytelling. Coming back to Malaysia to celebrate these ties makes it even more meaningful,” she said.
Her homecoming not only reinforces the cultural bond between Malaysia and Australia but also shines a spotlight on how food can serve as a bridge across communities and traditions
